Basic RingCentral Troubleshooting Guide
✅ 1. Check Internet Connection
RingCentral needs a stable internet connection.
Run a speed test: speedtest.net
Minimum: 100 kbps up/down per call
Recommended: 5 Mbps up/down for best results
Restart your modem/router if speeds are slow or unstable.
? 2. Restart the RingCentral App or Phone
Close the app completely and reopen it.
On desktop: Right-click the app in the system tray and select Quit, then restart it.
On mobile: Swipe up to close, then reopen.
For desk phones: Unplug for 10 seconds and plug it back in.
⚙️ 3. Update the App
Make sure you're using the latest version of the RingCentral app.
Update via:
Desktop: Check for updates in the app menu.
Mobile: Go to App Store / Google Play.
? 4. Clear Cache (Desktop App)
Go to:
Settings > Help > Clear Cache and RestartThis clears out glitches and restarts the app fresh.
? 5. Check RingCentral System Status
Sometimes it’s not you — it’s them.
Visit: status.ringcentral.com to check for outages or known issues.
? 6. Audio / Call Quality Issues
Use a wired headset if possible (Bluetooth can be glitchy).
If calls are choppy or dropping:
Close unused apps that might be hogging bandwidth (especially video apps).
Try switching networks or using mobile data temporarily.
?️ 7. Uninstall / Reinstall (If All Else Fails)
Remove the app
