1. Check the Basics
Is your headset plugged in properly?
If it's USB, try unplugging and plugging it back in.
If it's Bluetooth, make sure it’s connected and charged.
Test your headset in another app (like YouTube or Zoom) to confirm it works.
?️ 2. Set the Headset as Default in RingCentral
In the RingCentral Desktop App:
Click your profile picture (top right).
Go to Settings > Audio.
Under Microphone and Speaker, select your headset.
(It may be listed by brand name or “USB Audio Device”)
Click Test to make sure sound is coming through.
Click Save.
In the RingCentral Web App (Browser):
In Chrome/Edge, click the lock icon next to the URL.
Set Microphone and Sound permissions to "Allow".
Go to Settings > Audio inside the RingCentral app and select your headset.
?️ 3. Check Your Computer's Sound Settings
On Windows:
Right-click the speaker icon in the bottom right > Sound settings.
Under Input and Output, select your headset.
On Mac:
Go to System Settings > Sound.
Set your headset for both input and output.
? 4. Restart RingCentral
Fully close the app and reopen it. Sometimes changes don’t take effect until a restart.
? 5. Clear Cache (Desktop App Only)
In RingCentral:
Settings > Help > Clear Cache and Restart
? Still Not Working?
Try a different USB port (for wired headsets).
Re-pair Bluetooth headset: Disconnect and reconnect via system Bluetooth settings.
Update audio drivers (for Windows users).
Uninstall/reinstall the RingCentral app if it’s persistently glitching.
